Twenty-eight, five first

Most portfolios lie by omission. Twenty repositories, all green, all "done," none touched in a year. It looks prolific. It reads as fake, because it is — nobody ships twenty finished things and maintains none of them.

I list twenty-eight tools. Five get built first. The rest say planned, and mean it.

A status badge is a promise. I would rather keep a small one than break a large one. alpha means alpha — pre-release, honest about its edges. planned means I have not written it yet and will not pretend otherwise. The roadmap is not marketing. It is a ledger.

There is a temptation, when you want to look senior, to manufacture the appearance of a long career — backdated notes, a deep "legacy" archive, twenty years implied where there are fewer. I understand the pull. I also know that in this field, where the product is trust, a single discovered exaggeration costs more than the seniority it borrowed.

So: authority is earned, never staged. The work is the evidence. Everything else is noise I can afford to leave out.
